If you’re looking for a holiday outing that feels uniquely Houston, the brand-new Astros Light Up the Park delivers major wow factor—especially for baseball fans. We checked out this festive new experience (you can see our video recap!), and it’s safe to say this one belongs on your holiday bucket list.

This immersive walk-through event transforms Daikin Park into a glowing winter wonderland with a distinctly Astros twist. The illuminated path winds through the main concourse, dips down to the service level, and ends with an unforgettable finale—right on the field. Yes, you actually get to stroll the bases, and for our kids, that was the absolute highlight.

What to Expect at Astros Light Up the Park

From start to finish, this experience is designed for all ages, blending holiday magic with hometown pride. Guests can explore larger-than-life, Astros-inspired light displays, including a stunning Astrodome replica made entirely of lights, and even pose with the actual championship trophies—an exciting moment for fans of all ages.

Immersive holiday lights and music fill the venue, with Houston- and Astros-themed displays throughout, and the stadium itself comes alive as the stands glow and dance along with the music. Santa makes special appearances in true Astros fashion, seated in a giant baseball glove that makes for a perfectly on-theme photo op. The grand finale is a true crowd-pleaser: guests get to stroll—and even run—the bases on the field, which was easily the highlight of the night for kids.

Before heading out, families can enjoy extra holiday activities like coloring stations, writing letters to Santa, and a fun remote-controlled robotics challenge, making this more than just a walk-through lights experience. Classic holiday treats are also available for purchase, including cookies, hot chocolate, and other festive favorites.

Overall, Astros Light Up the Park feels fresh, festive, and unmistakably Houston—perfect for families with little (or big!) Astros fans, and engaging enough that even non-baseball families will appreciate the creativity, scale, and memory-making fun.
