Kids Craft: Make Easy Christmas Tree Sachets
The presents are put away. The New Year's ball has dropped. But before we go back to normal life, we can make something that will bring a little holiday cheer with us into the long winter. This delicious smelling craft will keep you and your little one busy on a cold winter's night and keep the season alive long after you have taken down the tree. So, before you turn your tree into mulch, recycle a little bit of it into a sweet smelling sachet.

Materials:
- Small Linen Bag from Craft Store
- Paint (we used gold)
- Paint Brush
- Pine Needles (to fill sachet)
- Holly Leaves and Pine Needles (to make prints)
Instructions:
1. Brush your leaf or needles with a bit of paint and press the leaf firmly onto the linen bag. If you are using pine needles, simply dapple the tips onto the bag. If you press to hard you will loose the shape of the pine needles. Remove the leaf or needles to reveal your print.
(Alternatively you can just let your child draw a picture on the bag. Since it's not going in the washer, regular markers or crayons should work fine.
2. To make your basic sachet filling, you can simply clip a small branch off of your tree or gather some loose needles from the floor. You can customize your scent by adding slices of dried orange, cinnamon or clove and other scents of the season.
By writing "Thank You" on the bag, these could also turn into sweet thank you cards/gifts). Whatever you decide to put in or on your sachet, you are sure to spread a little cheer throughout the year.
Show us what you make. Share it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag @mommypoppins, so we can see your creations, too!
