The Fairmont Hotel in Georgetown hosts its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in the courtyard. There will be live Christmas music performed by the Georgetown Visitation Madrigals, children can decorate holiday cards and taste holiday treats, and all families will be entered to win prizes. Santa will also be there to hear kids' Christmas wishes by the life-size gingerbread house. 

The event will benefit local nonprofit Horton's Kids, which empowers children growing up in one of Washington, DC's most under-resourced communities. Attendees are encouraged to bring a toy to donate.
