Spring day trips from Long Island are a perfect way to celebrate the season and have a fun-filled family day. We have an action-packed list of dozens of awesome spring day trip adventures for enjoying those extra daylight hours with the kids. 

From interactive playgrounds to farm animal cuddles to quaint seaside towns, springtime day trips on Long Island offer a lot for kids. We’re lucky to be within driving or ferry distance of New York City, Connecticut, and New Jersey's best destination-worthy day trips, too.

Most of these springtime day trips will take anywhere from roughly one to three hours of travel time, depending on where on Long Island you live. Be sure to plan for extra time to allow for traffic, and pack water and snacks.

Meanwhile, the Long Island Children's Museum celebrates the rich culture of Carnival with a multi-sensory, two-day celebration complete with music, dancing, food, crafts, and more. 

You can also rock out on a Beatles journey for kids at the Landmark on Main Street with a musical experience filled with games, movement, and stories. Or settle in for a royal good time as the Suffolk hosts a Princess Concert and Tea Party.

Stomp back to prehistoric times at the Nassau Coliseum as it hosts Jurassic Quest, an over-the-top dinosaur attraction. Or drop into the Garvies Point Museum for unique crafts, nature-inspired activities, and hikes.

Pop into the city and keep the Super Bowl LIX celebration going at the Paley Museum's latest exhibit, Gridiron Glory: Super Bowl Treasures, where you can explore unforgettable Super Bowl moments with iconic artifacts like championship rings and Super Bowl trophies.
