Each time the seasons change, the Griffith Observatory presents brief talks at local noon (in the Gottlieb Transit Corridor) and sunset (on the West Terrace).
Observatory staff will discuss the meaning of local noon and show how the Sun’s changing path across the sky causes seasonal changes.(Live presentation is weather permitting)
These events marking spring and fall equinox are free and open to the public.
Spring equinox 2024: March 19
Spring Equinox (Local Noon): 12:50 p.m
Spring Equinox (Sunset): 6:50 pm
