A colorful, new, traveling exhibit is opening at the Long Island Children’s Museum, and it’s one families won’t want to miss! Emotions at Play with Pixar’s Inside Out invites kids and grown-ups alike to step inside the world of feelings through interactive, hands-on, and digital experiences inspired by the beloved film.

Visitors will explore the roles of emotions, memory, and imagination in everyday life while getting to know Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear—and learning fun, age-appropriate ways to recognize and manage their own emotions.

To celebrate the exhibit’s debut, LICM is hosting a weekend full of special activities and surprises for opening weekend, making it the perfect time to visit and play. These are drop-in programs that take approximately 10 minutes and are yours to keep.

• Inside Out Memory Orb: January 17 & 18, 12–3pm. In Pixar’s Inside Out, memories are represented by glowing orbs of various colors based on the emotions tied to the memories. Join us to design and decorate your own memory orb to represent a special memory or feeling.
• Inside Out Headquarters Hats: January 17 & 18, 12–3pm. Pixar’s Inside Out focuses on Riley’s emotions Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear. Come explore your many emotions and craft an interchangeable hat to display which emotion is “in charge” throughout the day.
