What We're Reading

Me

I've been fascinated to learn how the brain's executive function challenges many kids in school and at home.

The Big Kid

My daughter loved this so much, we read it aloud to the whole family. Then moved on to the next one.

The LIttle Kid

A wonderful story with great illustrations and an environmental message that's not preachy or scary.

Mother of All Giveaways: Pamper Me Spa Package

May 7 2008

By mommy

spa-giveaway.pngI loved reading all of the Mother's Day wishes in yesterday's Mommy Cards and Flowers Giveaway post. You should all send your husbands or male friends over there to find out what women really want for Mother's Day. It's not that complicated, right?

There's not much talk about jewelry or almost anything material, it's mostly relaxing, either by herself for a little me time or relaxing with the family. In that vein, two women specifically dreamed of a little pampering at a spa and we are happy to say that we can perhaps help out somebody with that dream as today we are giving away a Pamper Me Package from Gloria Cabrera Salon and Spa in Midtown.

After you learn about this excellent prize be sure to check out our winner of Tuesday's Metropolitan Moms Hands-on Cooking Class Giveaway which will be announced at the bottom of this post. Good Luck!

Mother of All Giveaways Day Four: Pamper Me Spa Package
It's high up on the fantasy list for most moms, a little TLC for the body and the mind. Let your cares melt away when you submit yourself to the confident hands of the experts at Gloria Cabrera Salon and Spa, which Glamour Magazine sites as one of the Top 40 Salons in the US. Owner Caroline, a NYC mother herself, says her place is child-friendly and she encourages her clients to feel free to bring their children with them if they don't have child-care, in fact, her 10 month old is often there herself.

We're giving away a Mother's Day Pamper Me Package at Gloria Cabrera. Enjoy a one hour Gloria Cabrera Refreshing Facial, a 30 minute Chinese Stone Massage, and a Ginger Rice Exfoliating Body Treatment and go home with skin so soft it will seriously rival that baby's butt you left at home.

How to enter:
To win this giveaway please leave a comment sharing your all time favorite post on Mommy Poppins (hey, we're moms and we need a little love too)

Then go find that post (you can use the search function at the top of the site) and use one of the social media tools to email it to a friend, stumble or sk*rt the post to share it with others.

All comments must be left by tonight, Thursday, May 8th at 11PM.

One winner will be picked at random.

We will not use your email for anything other than notifying the winners.

PS. You have until midnight tonight to leave a comment on yesterday??™s Mommy Cards and Flowers giveaway.

And we have a winner:
The winner of our Metropolitan Moms Hands-on Cooking Class Giveaway is Tina! We'll all be coming over on May 15th for dinner, Tina. We want to sample your new skillz.

I love 100 things to do with kid in NYC. It's the exact reason why we moved here from Ohio eventhough people thought we were crazy to raise a child in the city. NYC is a great place to have kids!

By far 100 things to do with your kids in nyc. It's not why we moved here - rather why we can't be talked into moving away from here. As someone without childcare options - I'm adding the 101st thing to do as go to Gloria Cabrera Salon!

I recently subscribed to Mommy Poppins because I was looking for summer camps when I came accross this site. I could not stop reading all the good information it was giving me (that I so needed) and I subscibed right away. Now you have giveaways to die for. As a mother of three I could sure use a pamper of my own!!

I have to admit I love about 80% of your posts - and the other 20% are just about things that are too young for my kids, etc. - but the 100 things to do is a great posting. i'd love to be able to do even a few of the things on that list!

My friends always wonder how I know what's going on in NY for kids. I'm sure to plug Mommy Poppins. I'm sending the way-too-obvious 100 Things to Do to a friend who is leaving NY soon and wants to hit as many great events as possible.

I admit that I find myself quoting activities from this site to my friends without kids and they're always interested or want to come along! At the risk of jumping on the bandwagon, I loved the 100 Things post, too. And the one about giving the flowers in Central Park for Mother's Day. We're doing that one!

Indoor Activities for NYC Kids... the park is an easy answer on nice days, but some much of a New York year is not park weather, so these were great out-of-the box suggestions.

I am eternally grateful for the weekend roundups, not to mention the suggestions for things to do with your kids in icky weather. The promotional partners you have invited to advertise on the site are actually pretty great as well and I NEVER say that about online advertising. I have followed lots of great links I may not have found otherwise.

Oh no! My Sigg post cannot be emailed! So, I am changing my vote. The 99 Sensory Activities post was helpful for me as a teacher of a child with sensory integration struggles. I emailed it to my colleagues when it was first written and we have included several of these into our classroom.
