What's Easter without an outdoor Easter egg hunt? Even NYC kids can enjoy the fun of running through the early spring grasses to hunt for Easter eggs at these locations throughout New York for Easter 2010.

This year there is no “Great Central Park Easter Egg Hunt” but there are plenty of others—on farms, at parks and even one that teaches you about compasses. If you rather DIY, you can always bring your own Easter eggs and set up a little private hunt in a quiet corner of your local park or hide your eggs around the house. If you do an indoor egg hunt, we recommend using plastic or blown eggs, as to not find any hard-boiled surprises months later (yuck).

The Vernal Equinox is right around the corner and I’m sure most of us are welcoming spring with open arms. With the warmer weather suddenly upon us, we're just itching to get back outside and enjoy nature. And spring is a great time to enjoy the outdoors and show children the magical workings of Mother Nature as flowers bloom and plants grow. Folklore tells us that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Let's hope that we get some of that "lamb"-like weather soon! There's nothing better than live theater to ignite our childrens' imaginations. Here on Long Island, there are a number of theaters that hold performances geared towards children. Of the productions listed below, several are puppet performances, which are a great way to introduce children to the world of theater.

Many children’s facilities nowadays are offering fantastic drop-off programs, giving parents an opportunity to enjoy an evening out.  You can rest assured, knowing your child is in a safe, stimulating environment.  Many parents take advantage of "Parents' Night Out" to go out to dinner locally, but it is not unusual to hear of parents who use this time to clean or run errands.  Even families with children who are too young to attend, can drop off the older children in order to have some free time when the younger ones go to sleep.
