New York City Kids Summer Activities Guide
For many New Yorkers, as soon as the weather warms up, it signals a primordial urge to flee, but summer is one of the most fun times to be in New York. In the summer you can take advantage all the City has to offer — amazing beaches, gardens, pools, outdoor concerts and movies, events and activities. And much of it is completely free, turning New York in the summer into one big fest...and we don't mean a big "sweat-fest" — there's a million ways to stay cool and enjoy the summer in NYC with your family.
Whether you are visiting New York for the day, a week or hanging here with your kids for the whole summer, our Summer Fun Guide will tell you everything you need know to have an incredible summer right here in the city with the kids.

Our best day so far was spent lounging under a shady tree in Central Park on a blanket listening to music, having a picnic and watching our 18 month old run around exploring the grass, trees, and everything else the park has to offer!
The best day for me was
The best day for me was taking my daughter to sesame place for her 2nd birthday. She was in shock! Her favorite show has been sesame street, so it was a thrill for me to see her so excited. It was a great time and not too far from the city! I opted to take her there instead of a party-I'm 100% sure she enjoyed this more! And I saved the ticket so we can go again before the summer is over!
Our best day so far was when
Our best day so far was when we brought my 4-year-old son to the Victorian Garden amusement park in Central Park. It's inexpensive compared to going to Great Adventure or other amusement parks, and he's at the perfect size and age for it. We went on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded and we stayed for hours and rode on each ride a million times. Brought our own lunch and treated ourselves to popcorn and ice pops there. Stopped off at Bouchon Bakery for some treats and then down to Rocking Horse Cafe for dinner with friends. Our sweetie was so tired he conked out before eating.
Our fav day so far has been

The summer has gone really well and thank you mommy poppins for so many cool ideas of how to beat the rain, the heat, and most important the boredom of the summer.
One of the best days for me was going to the book of wonders book store in manhattan and watching my son not only love the books and ice cream but also the hundreds of posters from his favorite books.
