This summer, London artist Chris Long is celebrating childhood with This is Fun, a solo show at gallery hanahou featuring his new original works of children in their natural environments. With bright acrylics, Chris captures the exuberant feelings of children when adults have stepped out of the picture and kids are free to be themselves.

Find out what lives in the waters under the Manhattan Bridge! Join experts from the Coastal Marine Resource Center and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy as we use a 30-foot seining net to catch fish and other remarkable East River creatures. Families and kids can take a good look at the fish before we release them back to their homes and keep a tally of our catch. We provide field guides, identification keys, and plenty of fun to go around. Space is available for 30 kids plus their parents/guardians. July 26 Animæ in the Park with Greg Martin

Kids go on a treasure hunt around the grounds of the Park and collect organic objects then work together to create an animated stop-motion movie using a digital camera.

Saturday Sculpture Workshops are held Saturdays, May 10 - September 27 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM (rain or shine) Workshops are offered in the education area at Socrates Sculpture Park on a drop in basis. Participants work with a new artist each week, exploring diverse and innovative art mediums.

In 1990, Socrates Sculpture Park founded the Education Program, offering a variety of innovative classes and activities for children. The goal of the Park's Education Program is to provide an exciting and stimulating curriculum that teaches practical skills for building confidence and a sense of personal achievement. Free Family Disco Party @ THE MOXIE SPOT! THE MOXIE SPOT will host a Free Family Disco Party complete with mirror ball and hula skirts. For those still in the city over the Summer it will be a great place to have a bite to eat and get your groove on with your kids.
